Simra* is a young Christian student in our sewing class. However, she always felt tired and irritated and did not show much interest in sewing. She was often absent from class due to sickness. She frequently took medication prescribed by a quack doctor at the suggestion of her father.
One day RAM staff suggested that she should get a complete check-up from our medical clinic where a qualified doctor would be able to diagnose her illness and treat her accordingly.
It was difficult for her to get her father’s permission because he has always trusted in hakeems, quack doctors who are largely unqualified to treat patients, instead of medical doctors.
Finally, Simra was able to get a complete check-up from our doctor, who suggested a few tests. They revealed that she was suffering from diabetes as well as thyroid disease. Our doctor prescribed her the appropriate medication, and RAM also arranged for her to visit a specialist.
Now she is taking the medication regularly and feeling much better. She is very grateful to RAM and World Compassion Fellowship for opening the medical clinic. Her attendance in the sewing class has also improved.
Stories like this demonstrate the importance of helping those in need in various ways. By having the capacity to assist Simra medically, we also were able to help her improve her sewing abilities.
It’s all about ending the cycle of poverty at multiple points. Would you consider supporting RAM’s mission today?
