Shaukat, who works as a laborer, recently came to our medical Life Center with severe body pains and a high-grade fever. Due to his fever, he was unable to work for two days.
There was nothing left in his house to eat because he had not earned anything in the past week. Given his symptoms, we suspected he might have dengue fever.
Thanks to our hematology analyzer, we were able to quickly check his blood counts. The results confirmed a drop in his platelet count, a key indicator of dengue.
With this rapid diagnosis, we were able to start the appropriate treatment immediately. The timely intervention made a significant difference in his recovery, preventing the condition from worsening.
Just like Shaukat, many other patients have benefitted from this early detection, allowing us to provide effective treatment before complications arise.
Thankfully, he is now fully recovered. Shaukat is very grateful to RAM and World Compassion Fellowship for providing excellent medical care in our rural area along with the diagnostic laboratory.
During the dengue outbreak our Life Center has treated hundreds of patients successfully. Because dengue fever can cause life-threatening symptoms if it is not treated immediately, especially if someone has already had dengue fever before, urgent treatment has helped many people.
By offering free or low cost high-quality medical care to poor religious minorities, we are able to help address one aspect of the cycle of poverty. To learn more and to support our efforts, please click here.
